We see history repeating itself between the Vietnamese refugee crisis and those fleeing Syria and the Middle East. We know that the Vietnamese-American community would not be where we are now without the aid of those governments and organizations that worked to allow us sanctuary and a chance for our families to have a new start.
We are hosting a reading for Qui Nguyen’s wildly irreverent play VIETGONE to help raise funds for the next generation of immigrants and refugees.
All proceeds will be donated to the National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (www.nnirr.org) in their mission to “defend and expand the rights of all immigrants and refugees, regardless of immigration status.”
The reading will be pay what you will. ($15 suggested donation.)
Please email TheSongCollectiveNYC@gmail.com to RSVP.
